The article focuses on the experience of municipal solid waste management (MSW) in developed and developing countries. An extensive overview of existing solutions and innovations in the field of waste management is given. Also shown are examples of countries where the population does not want to see problems MSW, or until you can start working on it for economic and social reasons. Among the design solutions in the field of environmental protection in the area of impact of MSW landfills were also considered in the development of Russian scientists who tested in the Sverdlovsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The technology is proposed of combining exploitation and reconstruction of municipal solid waste within the landfill. The technology was tested in the Sverdlovsk and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
