THE NORTHERN CRIMEAN-CAUCASIAN MARGINAL FLEXURE-RUPTURE ZONE

The Northern Crimean-Caucasian flexural-rupture zone is a boundary structure at the junction of the newest Crimean-Caucasian orogenic ridge and the Indolo-Kuban foredeep. It is divided into three segments with different development histories. This difference is determined by late orogenic restructuring. The early orogenic Kechensko-Taman transverse trough was transformed into the late orogenic Kerch-Taman saddle-shaped element of the ridge. Therefore, the segments of the flexural-rupture zone differ in their structure and age. The North and South Crimean-Caucasian flexural-discontinuous zones are the largest newest disjunctive structures in the region.
