ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS AND “GEOENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT” IN URBAN AREAS (INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC EXPERIENCE)

We have studied the experience in domestic and international practice of taking into account integrated environmental indicators as a measure of safety or well-being of urban spaces based on the relevance of existing environmental problems of cities. The limitations of the considered environmental indicators used in integrated indicators of urban assessment are established as well as the widespread neglect of dangerous geoecological factors that reflect the stability of the geological environment and can serve as a measure of geoenvironmental safety. To reduce the risk of dangerous geoenvironmental processes in cities, it is proposed to take into account the “geoenvironmental footprint” as an integral indicator integral indicator. It shows the consequences of existing, spontaneous or active geoenvironmental processes, including the pollution of natural environment in urban areas.
