Side-thrust stress (depending on the weight of the above-laying strata and the soil strength at the point), is formed in the geological environment (in the Earth's gravitational field) in each point of the soil mass according to the Pascal and Mohr–Coulomb Laws. A local force impact on a landslide-prone mass by geological processes (landslides, erosion, abrasion, etc.) results in an intense stress discharge in the bedrock massif adjacent to the slope and in the formation of dissipative geological structures (DGS). The features of the geological structure of the bedrock massif has no effect on the DGS manifestation, as well as DGS functioning under the limit state and the processes of separation and displacement in the form of a landslide block. Geological features are manifested through: the formation of new geological boundaries (envelopes) of DGSs, which divide the existing structures and tectonic faults (like cracks produced by earthquakes); the barrage effect in ground water within the bedrock massif in front of DGS; the formation of specific compression folds and grabens; as well as the specific changes in stress-strain state and properties of soils along the envelope of future displacement surface at different transformation stages of DGS into a landslide block.
